I read somewhere that azithromycin has antiviral properties; forgot where; but your right the mainline consensus is that it doesn’t work against a virus. The Doc today said that wanting azithromycin for the flu or Covid is “celebrity treatment”(His words) found only on the internet. Of course he was wrong about that, especially related to Covid, but I didn’t want to press the point.

It is a macrolide class anti-biotic - in an article posted up thread, the doctor said she preferred clarithromycine (stronger than the zithromycine).
