Young’ns are brought up in a peer group bubble culture. Very little interaction with older, usually wiser, folks. So they develop their own sense of “beauty”. Fits in perfectly with the “perception is reality” philosophy.
Basically children trying to impress their peers in the sandbox.

I often wonder how they clean those nostril hangers when they have a nice viscous sneeze or a runny nose. Repulsive thought.

One of the cats was a fight-picking little bastard, despite being fixed. One time he was out in the middle of the street about half a block away, having a yowling face-off with a neighborhood tom. The dogs and I went out, and the dogs charged. The tom was facing us, and you could just tell he was waiting for my cat to cut and run first. He was closest to the dogs, after all. Nope. Finally, the tom had no choice but to run. As the dogs flew past him, my cat got up, and sauntered back home.
