“Good cars”

We had a 1980 Jetta that wasn’t bad.

Then we bought a used 2000 Jetta around 2002 for our kids to use in high school and it was the worst POS ever. Every single plastic part on it broke. It gulped about one quart of oil with every tank of gasoline. The drive train and brakes were good (except for the engine oil problem), but the rest of it was awful.

Mine was a mid-1980’s and had fuel injector problems. The car would just slow down and STOP for lack of fuel, no matter where I was.

Got stranded 3x with that piece of junk. It was a recall item - I returned it to the Dealer, took my loss and never looked back.

But Day-um! That car handled so well and was flat-out FUN to drive really fast on curvy Wisconsin hills. True ‘luxury’ at that time in my life. ;)
