Wow, finally. I don't want to get my hopes up, all I can remember is that Ariane booster blowing to smithereens some years back. But if they can get it to L2, and it all unfolds correctly and is functional, it will be potentially much bigger than Hubble in terms of the science it generates.
It can't stay at L2 forever; it takes fuel to keep it there, so its lifetime is limited.

The planning started in 1996. It was supposed to have launched in 2007. The original cost was 500 million. It has now reached 10 billion. Obviously the Biden Junta has had little to do with this but given its sabotaging of America for the past 7 months one wonders if they already have the fail ready to go.
