Monkey Werx posted a video this morning and he talked about those clips of the C-17 pulling away with all the people running next to it. He has connections who’ve been in AF and says that they told him the men on the tarmac were cheering and celebrating that the US was leaving, not trying to cling to the plane. This explains why they were waving at the cameras and running alongside. And if you watch the people on the jetway, a lot of them appear to be hanging off the stairs and looking out into the distance, similar to the crowds who climbed the Berlin Wall. Planting a flag, so to speak.
