Makes you wonder... How many people have been misdiagnosed with MS, and they never find out?

You have me wondering the same. My mother was diagnosed with MS around 1980. Very sudden onset of neurological symptoms that eventually paralyzed her on one side of her body. Within a few months, she fully recovered and has had no symptoms since and takes no drugs. Seems pretty obviously a misdiagnosis.

Kinda reminds me of the show House, where they constantly threw the same differential diagnosis at their patients, sarcoidosis or lupus. Maybe it should have been MS.

You noticed that, too? I watched all 8 seasons of House episodes back to back during lockdown.

Their go-to theories were sarcoidosis and amyloidosis (?) over and over again. I never heard of those illnesses before that show.

You're right, the writers should've had them diagnosing everyone with MS.

Glad your mother recovered after that misdiagnosis.
