They’ve been pushing us for years. They want that confrontation. Then the gloves really come off.

(We have two Democrat parties. 50% of the US population has no political representation.)

As a coworker of mine used to say, “If the government is so worried about civil unrest, why are the working so hard to unrest me?”

“They want that confrontation. Then the gloves really come off.”
Why on earth would they do it as they are sure to lose and find themselves hanging from lamp posts?
The entire premise is flawed.

I don't think so. Sure, they've been pushing the boundaries for years, but I don't think they ever really wanted open confrontation with the bulk of the populace, meaning they don't want open rebellion. What they want is what they have gotten so far - slow, steady tightening of the noose around our necks, until by the time we decide it's time to do something about it, it's too late.
Heck, the commies pretty much have full control of the government, the federal law enforcement agencies, the CIA, and the military. If they wanted to crush us openly, they don't need an excuse anymore - they just send in the troops. The only logical conclusion is that they aren't ready to crush us openly.
At this point, I think any calls for restraint in the face of tyrannical actions ARE the psy-ops, just like the Q "trust the plan" crap. They want you to stay home doing nothing while they further seize control. I'd say it is past time where we react. Que sera, sera
