“Since the comparison was to California, that’s what I referenced. All states have different ways of raising the state revenues.”
I know all states have different ways.......” I was just pointing out what WA has. We do have pretty high sales tax and property taxes though.
A Devil’s Dictionary of the Left
A not completely tongue-in-cheek lexicon of leftist Newspeak
anti-racism. A movement to reinstitute racism, with Marxist overtones.
bill name. A description of approximately the opposite of a piece of legislation’s real effect if enacted (e.g., Affordable Care Act).
climate change. A marketing phrase used to express the quasi-religious pseudo-scientific belief that humans are the source of all evil on earth.
communist. A nearly fully evolved Democrat.
conservative. Nazi, white supremacist, racist, homophobe, sexist, and bigot. Definition overlaps with “Republican” since conservatives have largely been purged from the Democratic Party. See also “Republican.”

I’ve always heard that WA taxes were pretty high. One of my friends wants to move to AL because they have lower property taxes. They do have income tax, but since she’s retired, her income would be exempt.
I considered moving to Missouri years ago (like 30!) which is why I knew about the personal property tax. Paying that every year? Forget that! Obviously, I didn’t move. LOL
I kinda like the sales taxes funding the state coffers instead of income tax, because it catches all the under the table and illegal income when people purchase things with the money. But it can be an issue when people don’t spend as much.
Our politicians tried to give us an income tax a couple of times years ago; we were successful in beating it back.
