Just thinking out loud here, but I know around here (where we know a thing or two about heat!), things like cukes, zucchini and tomatoes don’t do very well with producing veggies when it’s very hot. I bet that excessive heat you had earlier this summer did them in.
Kinda like in the spring, where the ground temp has to be so warm or the seed just sits and rots.
