8.2 is pretty healthy. The 1904 San Francisco was 7.9 estimated and 1964 Alaska was 9.2 and is thought to be the second worst recorded. Fukushima was a 9.

When I heard about the quake, I pulled up the Lake Hood Seaplane Base live cam to see if it shook. I was watching that cam when the last two quakes hit that were felt in Anchorage and was startled both times. The cam shook and rattled. It was good to see all was calm there tonight.

1906, you meant. The earthquake was bad enough, but it was the fires in the aftermath that did the maximum damage.

This was located in the Pacific southeast of Perryville according to USGS. There have been numerous aftershocks. This appears to be just south of the Aleutian Islands but close to the mainland side.
