Even after reading the linked article, I admit that I’m perplexed. My first reaction was “What good did it do to have the audit at all?” My second reaction was “There must be something hopeful in the offing that we’re not aware of yet”.

The Senate President knows that blatant cheating went on, and is trying to dissuade other states from doing what Arizona did.
Auditors are over the target, and taking flak.
