My husband had red curly hair from his neck to his privates, and one shoulder was also well covered. He came back from a few weeks working in Cincinnati and I discovered lice in his chest hair. I was suspicious that he had misbehaved, but 2 dozen were in the hair above his belt, and only 1 or 2 below the belt, so then I believed that he had caught it while sleeping at the YMCA, alone! If his hair had been dark, I don’t know if I would have married him, but the red hair matched his reddish complexion so was less noticeable.
You can get lice just by standing around people with it.
Here in the schools it can run rampant through the students practically overnight. A few years back, a local school had to shut down for a week while the students were disinfected..................
