Question:

Given the vaporizer hydrogen peroxide info, do you think using Trader Joe’s tea tree tingle hair products in the shower might be beneficial to fighting viruses? Ingredients in order:

Water, tea tree leaf, peppermint, eucalyptus, nettle, thyme, birch bark, chamomile, clary sage, coltsfoot, yarrow, mallow, horsetail, soybean, protein stearalkonium chloride, vitamin e, citric acid, phenoxyethanol, grapefruit.

It is certified organic.

I don’t like the protein stearalkonium chloride or ]phenoxyethanol or grapefruit, as much of the grapefruit seed extract (I assume that is likely what this is) is solvent extracted.

I can’t use any shampoo, no matter how “natural” as they have stuff like that in them. And the useful stuff is very likely not in large enough quantities to be useful.

I would recommend getting the useful EOs and using directly in inhalations or however. I don’t know how many of these ingredients are EOs or what they are; nettle, clary sage, coltsfoot, mallow, horsetail are not noted for antiviral potency. Thyme, eucalyptus, peppermint and maybe birchbark EOs, yarrow EO is way too expensive but as a tea or powdered herb it has use in infective illness esp. for fevers. Coltsfoot tea is great for coughs but whatever amount is in the shampoo would have no therapeutic value.

I use coltsfoot (about half a # of c/s herb) as one of the ingredients in home made cough syrup, very effective for coughs. I use yarrow in fever herb mixes Some of these are for hair such as horsetail (not sure what effect when washed, internally it strengthens hair nails due to mineral content). Nettle is a useful herb but I have never used it.

That’s my .02.

Melin smelling something and nebulizing it are two very different things. Nevbulizing pulls medicine deeply into the lungs where it is immediately absorbed. I like where your head’s at though.

Question: if the Suramin is only available by injection, does this mean any other delivery system (ex: drinking a tea) is not as effective?

I am not familiar with all those ingredients. I see LJ has already gone through the various uses, so there’s no need for additional details from me - who is really not totally up on these things.

I have a book from the European Commission entitled Herbal Medicine that I use to look things up when I need to, since it’s not a regular thing that I am involved with.
