My GG??grand father fled Switzerland and came to America to escape mortal religious persecution. He came to a Swiss community in East Tennessee where there were many others that fled Vaud for the same reason.

There is Switzerland and then there is Switzerland.
As a curious side note, my nephew is German Swiss on his father’s side and French Swiss on his mother’s (my sister) side. His German Swiss relatives settled in East Tennessee about 75 years before the French Swiss came. Strangely believe it but the mountains and valleys of east Tennessee closely resemble the part of Switzerland from which they fled
I know very little about the current protestant situation in Switzerland but doubt if they still have such religious animosity within families
