So, if it can be shown that Suramin cures a lot of things, wouldn’t that mean we need to plant more pine trees?

Wouldn’t something like this just warm an environmentalist’s heart?

Hmm.

And what other kinds of trees have medicinal properties?

And would not these same-said trees, in many cases, be able to be grown, or perhaps would better grow, in 3rd-world countries and provide a good living for people there?

And not just pine, but fir as well. From what I’ve read, all firs are good, but not all pines are good. Firs seems to require colder weather; but some kinds of pines grow in the south, don’t know about tropics. But also read that the same substance is in star anise, which does grow in tropics. Suramin is the medical name, the actual principle in the plant material has a somewhat different name if my memory serves me which it may not be doing.
