What’s GETTR?
I think the site is a scam. Please read the many FR posts on the topic today. The site references Google privacy and terms instead of their own—at least earlier today—and has many fake Trump accounts. The @RealDonaldTrump keeps getting created and deleted. Look at the posts within these and it is obvious these are not from Trump. The whole site is an embarrassment. Plus, it is so close to a knock-off of Twitter that I suspect that if it were real, it’ll be tied up with lawsuits, block, and all rather quickly.
I tried too. Saw “google privacy” at the bottom. Decided, “no thanks.”
The site does not go LIVE until Sunday afternoon, July 4th.
Have tried several times to receive activation codes to no avail.
I think President Trump ought to stick with Gab and his press releases.
Also, I gather this is a platform established by Jason Miller, which doesn’t inspire much confidence to its authenticity and legitimacy. Miller came out the morning after the election was stolen claiming that all would be resolved in 72 hours . . .
I had the same problem so I wrote to help. I tried 2 different emails.
Sounds like a CIA domestic surveillance operation to me.
Tried to create an account but registration is closed now.
It’ll never be a thing until every conservative leaves facebook and twitter.
It’s an echo chamber. You’ll log in and it’ll be exciting for about a day. Next day ? Same thing.
If we all left Facebook - and I mean we all - it would be dead within a month. Seriously. It would be nothing but leftists crying into the wind.
And because a “right wing only” sort of platform will do the same to us, only with right-winged goodness.
There is no, and will be no, right-wing only social media network. For that same reason I need to ask everyone out there to simply leave Facebook and Twitter.
I did, about 6 years ago. I haven’t heard from a SINGLE SOUL who was on my “friend list”. They don’t reach out at all. They don’t return calls. I’m the only - and i mean ONLY - one to actually call people and see how they are doing.
Not a single soul in 6 years has reached out to me. Even best friends. I’m totally alone with the exception of my wife and daughter. And this quite frankly makes me feel good. The rest was an illusion.
IF you drop facebook you will never hear from your family or friends again. And if you do, you hold onto to those people because they were the only thing that was real in the first place.
Proton is fine. Just trash yahoo and gmail.

I just read about this today via Newsmax. I tried creating an account using my HOTMAIL e-mail account, went through all the steps required to start the account, and was told to look for an email with the verification code. No code arrived and I got an error message. I tried redoing everything later on, creating the account again, and it said that I tried too many times today to create the account. What??? Why can’t anyone on our side get it right from the get go whenever they start a new social media platform?

I had the same problem. Never got an email to my Gmail or Hotmail account but I did get one to my proton mail account. The only problem is they sent me a verification code and within seconds it is expired. I tried it 10 times and each time the code was expired and it couldn’t of been expired. So I gave up.

Speculation continues to mount about what platform President Trump is planning to join or launch, and when it will happen
Bloomberg reports that 45th President Donald Trump will not join GETTR, the new social media platform created by his former spokesman, Jason Miller, despite media publications suggesting the social network was created by “Team Trump”.
A senior Bloomberg reporter explains “Trump isn’t joining Jason Miller’s new social media platform,” and President Trump will not “have any financial stake or participation” in GETTR. “Apparently the ex president still has plans for a separate platform. Unclear what exactly,” she noted. GETTR was officially launched earlier today amid expectations that President Trump would himself be launching a new platform following his bans from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and virtually every big tech platform.
