I realize why “Math is racist” is a recent mantra.
Someone posted earlier a Thomas Jefferson quote about being free and not being ignorant. As in previous times, when we peons were prohibited from learning to read so we would remain ignorant and enslaved, we are now being discouraged from understanding the applications of mathematics. If we can “do math,” they cannot control us.

Interesting! I hope it’s also about personality, since I am math illiterate. I’m allergic to numbers. But even as a kid I always had a thing about being controlled. Someone once asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I said, “In charge.” lol I just wanted to wear soft socks and cut my Sees candy in half so I didn’t get any surprises like apricots.
I wish I could do math, but it becomes puffs of smoke in my brain.
