The story of the College World Series — the NCAA removing North Carolina State's baseball team from the event for positive COVID tests — broke in the middle of the night, at 1:10 a.m. Saturday.
Wolfpack players took a team photo on the field a half-hour later.
One of the team's players, relief pitcher Cameron Cotter, was not pleased with the NCAA's decision and shared his frustration on Twitter.
Flipping the bird with his right middle finger, Cotter held, in his left hand, an unfolded piece of paper with the words National Committee Against Athletes.
"To say that the NCAA decision to prematurely end our season is based on the safety of the players is a lie," Cotter wrote in the tweet. "Thank you WPN (Wolfpack Nation) for your constant support this year. More thanks to everyone involved with NC State baseball for the ride of a lifetime."

The whole series is now ruined. Whatever team wins will have an asterisk by their victory. This was unfair to all four of the remaining teams in the series.
Is it true that the Vanderbilt coach got this ball rolling with the NCAA to get rid of NC State? If so, he is beneath contempt.
Shades of Brian Bosworth!
The NCAA needs to die.
Well, I can’t find anywhere that says the Vandy coach had anything to do with it, so until there is something to confirm it, mea culpa. Maybe the rumor was started by a disgruntled NC State fan.
Wouldn’t that asterisk still be there if NC State fielded an incomplete team? It’s not like the NCAA would put the CWS on hold for a 2 week quarantine. It’s a tough call for sure.
National Committee Against Athletes. I love it.
These athletes and ADs have had ample time to get vaccinated. They know the risks.
Hi.
The NCAA did the same thing to VCU right before the NCAA men’s basketball tournament started.

When all the COVID lies and Fauci lies are revealed, I have a feeling thst the NCAA is going to be turning its head and coughing up a crap load of cash for this stupid decision! Its not like baseball is a close quarters game. The closest on to a player is the catcher....and technically he is wearing a mask that is just as effective as a cloth mask.
It was the Vandy AD staff - they complained to the NCAA that not enough NC State players were vaccinated.
That has not been proven.
This is their problem
“According to multiple sources, two unvaccinated NC State players tested positive for COVID-19 this week, prompting the NCAA to test the entire roster, including vaccinated players. Four positive tests came back from that round of testing, prompting the no-contest ruling. All four of the latest positive tests came from vaccinated individuals who were in the dugout for Friday’s game against Vanderbilt, per multiple sources.”
1. 2 un-vaccinated players came back positive
2. 4 vaccinated players came back positive.
3. The vaccine was useless. School vaccination policy self
destructive.
4. The vaccine is leaky, testing method unreliable, if PCR
based.
Well, they should not have made the NC State team to go without a full team. As Clay Travis pointed out on Outkick, people praised Michael Jordan for playing with the flu. The flu is much more likely to hurt young people than Covid is. The whole thing is ridiculous.
Good point
I don’t know if I am really being paranoid - I am VERY anti mask/vax -
BUT
It does seem a whole lot of in shape, young athletes are suffering from a massive amount of shoulder, leg and joint injuries....usually a rash seen in spring but not this late in season.
Am wondering if the limited drills etc and/or people taking the shot are suffering?
The way MLB is pushing the shot on US, I would imagine they are pressuring the players to get it?????
These athletes and ADs have had ample time to get vaccinated. They know the risks.
Maybe they prefer their personal Liberty?
