I’m working today on getting my husband’s days and nights straightened out.
He had a terrible wreck on the Interstate 20 years ago that did a lot of brain damage to the frontal lobe. It was a closed head injury and he spent months in Health South learning to eat, walk, etc. Once he could do that and came home he sundowned every night and slept all day. That was a long year. LOL
Anyway, he healed up fine but around the full moon he starts sundowning and will get his days and nights mixed up again. Once that is straightened out we’re fine the rest of the month. When I’m dealing with that I am really ill-tempered because I’m so tired. His big problem now is age related dementia and the monthly sundowning isn’t helping. The dementia is progressing really fast and it’s frustrating for him because he knows he can’t remember anything. He was an electrical engineer before he retired and now he can’t remember if he ate lunch. It’s depressing but more for him since he knows it’s happening.
Now me...I’m in bed by 8:00 at night and up before daylight. Too many years getting up early to work. I’m not a night person. IMO, nothing good happens after dark.
