Check into KEVIN ANNETT...I heard him interviewed by Jeff Shepherd and Jessie Czebotar. He was a United Church of Canada pastor that’s the state church of Canada an they were as much into it as the Catholicshe said they committed genocide on the first nations peoples. Did all kinds of stuff the Nuremburg trails would have executed people for. Anyway he’s had some tribunals...but its horrible and evil what happened here and the church and state were complicit in trying to take out the first nations people because they were “heathens”

It’s true that the United Church was also complicit in the residential schools scandal. I believe the residential schools were receiving support money from the government and everyone wanted their piece of the action. It doesn’t take much imagination to understand what often happens in those circumstances.
While they call themselves the United Church of Canada, Canada doesn’t have a “state church”. The United Church of Canada was simply a union of the Methodists, the Congregational Union of Ontario and Quebec, the Presbyterians, and the Association of Local Union Churches (regional churches) and never approached the membership or power of the Catholic Church, even at its peak.
