A note to any, curious about Telegram…
It wanted my phone number and sent an SMS code to my phone to verify.
After doing that, I went into the Telegram App settings page, Privacy and
Security, Phone Number, and told it to share my phone number with
“Nobody”.
I also did NOT give it access to my contacts, and told it not to sync my contacts.
Once that was done, I came here to share the provided contact link shown when I made my user ID.

ThankQ for that info; them asking for my phone # is what kept me from signing up; I have had a tough time with those “car warranty” calls (I want to go all Wild Highlander on those miscreants...).
