I fell of a ladder into my yard about 18 months ago. Still feel the affect of that. Thankfully the soil was loose, but it still hurt my right shoulder. Was bruised for a couple of weeks. My left shoulder now hurts as well. Yep, being aged 60 definitely has its disadvantages.

They had all the time in the world to come up with a good script and that was a terrible one. I could have come up with a better idea. Lots of people could have. Whatever Spielberg once had creatively he doesn’t anymore, he’s burned out and so is Lucas.

The 4th one had a script that was written by numerous writers over a period of years.

They were probably felt obligated to keep more of the script than they should have because each writer was paid/contributed and to retain some idea (like aliens) without compensating the original writer “appropriately” leads to union squabbles.
