I was at a different beach yesterday, and this poignant video showed up in my YT stream list, really resonating with me. There are loads of these types of restored vids now from the 19th century through at least 1939, all showing largely unknown people who have for the most part laid down their burdens by now.

Who decided that old films need to be colorized now? You aren’t really restoring it, just making up colors and adding them.
