Come on man!
I had never heard of it until about this time last year. That escalated quickly.
It’s the thing, you know.
He doesn’t know chit from chinola.
Next year it falls on Father’s Day. All other years it will always fall pretty much one day away from Father’s Day. So the community that gives us 75% out-of-wedlock Birth, has just attacked Father’s Day, they named it Juneteenth Independence Day, two weeks before actual Independence Day. This is just more destruction of the American culture.
I’m sure we all know what Hillary would call the holiday. We already know how she characterizes black people being late an event.
The vast majority of politicians had no clue what Juneteenth was, before Trump scheduled a rally on the 19th last year.
So now we have a national holiday, designed to further stoke the fires of racial grievance. It wiped out Father’s Day, and it’s in the middle of national proud to take it up the ass month.
America, 2021.
I didn’t either.
Sounded like a black slang holiday to me.
Joom Teemphusez. America’s official minstrel show.
The “Tulsa Massacre” was not a massacre. It was a pitched battle between two armed bodies of men.
Too be fair no one has heard of it before last year . I would also add that he was the Tulsa race riot not Tulsa massacre
I never heard of it until recently. Probably few knew what it was. It was a political holiday conjured up out of nowhere.
Presenters will include Harriette Reid, an activist who is fighting Critical Race Theory in the schools, activist and community organizer Mark Ang, and Bishop Mendez of Churches in Action. More information is available here.
In 1865, the last 250,000 slaves who did not know they had been emancipated, living in Texas, were notified by the US Army Commander of Texas that they had been freed. Many immediately left Texas, mostly heading North.
So this “federal holiday” recognizes a minority of slaves in just one state, a large number of whom left after the initial party.
It’s a Texas thing but it’s also a USA thing.
Attended my first Juneteenth celebration back in the 80’s.
Texas history is full of remarkable things.
The 1830’s thru the 1870’s were particularly bloody for
all involved. I’m a 7th generation newcomer.
OMG! A tuba massacre! How horrible! Who would do that? Massacre a bunch of tubas…!?
Oh. There was no tuba massacre?
Never mind.
I just keep seeing more and more parallels between slow joe and LBJ. Both are vicious bullies, election thieves, corrupt as hell, and racist P's of S who keep keep buying the black vote while destroying the black man.
Correction: “Tulsa race riot”.
People ignored the 150th anniversary of Juneteenth.
And has Joe yet made any statements regarding WHY Deleware kept their slaves MONTHS after the Juneteenth proclamation in Texas?
If people are going to treat this as a national holiday, then some matters must be discussed publicly.
