Today, I had a putt that I thought should be given to me and when the concession request was declined, I made a comment about 14” putts rarely being missed. My playing companion stated that the putt was closer to 2 feet and when I challenged that, he told me that his feet were exactly 12” long and he paced off 2 of his feet to the hole. Then he said that most people think their putts are shorter than they really are.

I only bring this up to ask if you’re sure you’re missing 2 foot putts. Maybe they’re closer to 36”-42”? Those putts are not gimmes, depending on the terrain, so you may be a better putter than you think. Perhaps you can measure your feet in golf shoes with a ruler and then pace off those missed putts on the course?

My putt was indeed a slippery little 2 footer but I focused on “putter head straight through to the hole” and I sunk the putt anyway 😁

I am a sh*t golfer. Never broke 110 (I don't cheat).

So there I was, on a par three. I hit about one foot from the hole on my drive. OMG, I says to my self. ALMOST A HOLE IN ONE!!!

Self, I says, walking up to the hole, at least you got your very first birdie.
