/mass extinction events, anyone?
—
The last mass extinction event was 12800 years ago and was caused by a period of comet debris strikes that lasted 100 years and ushered in the Younger Dryas Event, which was also ended as it began with another round of comet debris.
Ice ages historically had no significant impact on mass extinctions, rather there were many other causes usually having to do with large rocks from space and volcanism.
When the next one hits and we can’t grow food, I’m guessing that will still qualify.
Maybe they’ll clone Wooly Mammoths in time for it.
