You pose many of the same questions I had when I went into the piece, but none of them were resolved.

A longer time span could have made the deaths seem more like a natural occurance?

There were “Indian schools” all over america up through the early 1900’s. iirc, jim thorpe attended one? Transitioning natives to the white man’s ways was more “accepted” back then & not such a sinister “lab experiment” as the author projects.

The piece spent so much time tying justin trudeau to a sinister dad, pierre trudeau that they missed throwing justin is “son of fidel castro” line of thinking into the sink with the other ingredients
.
We’re you on the trip out west to the bad lands that I noticed comments on last week??

Yes indeed! The Carlisle Indian School in Carlisle, Pa. now the Army War College.

I recommend "Jim Thorpe--All American" to all and sundry. His time at Carlisle under coach Pop Warner figures prominently.

(Thorpe and his teammates keep returning to Easton, Pa. to beat Lafayette's ass. That's hard on this 'Pard.)
