Expect a loooong wait time after making your Maverick reservation.
It's like that with the Bronco.
Is it a Ford?? Then it’s FAR from perfect.
Sorry, but greedy unions have destroyed the American auto industry.
> Smaller than the Ranger = Courier <
Thanks for mentioning that. I never heard of the Courier, so I just looked it up. It looks interesting.
Looked at some pictures of the 2022 Ford Maverick, are they selling it to blacks ?
My future wife got a Maverick for graduation in 1970. I drove that car many miles around Santa Barbara and up Hiway 1 to Vandenberg. It was a go-getter and with the straight 6, it was bulletproof. We both loved that car for it's reliability and the muscle up the hill from 101 to Lompoc.
When I shipped out, we gave it to our nephew. In 1982 when we returned for a visit, it was still going strong. In all that time, it just needed oil, plugs and points.
The neighbors had one. Coastal Oregon. He commuted 20 miles a day for years, and said he didn’t trust it for any more than that. One day, someone stole it. A couple of years later, he got a call from law enforcement in Florida, wanting you know how to get it back to him.
4 doors? So it’s basically a sedan without a trunk lid.

When are you getting hitched?
Bring basic the 2-door pickup with no back seat and a long bed! I need a truck, not a sedan with no trunk lid!
Very few would buy them, and they wouldn’t meet current safety standards.
I try to buy American. And Ford is the best American car company.
Yes, I know that many Ford cars (and car parts) are made elsewhere. But at least the profits go to an American company.
Would I still feel that way if Ford’s quality slips to close to GM level? Probably not.
I don’t trust CVT, either. Not yet. OK on a quad.
I bought a 1972 Ford Maverick for $500.00 (in 1978). Ran pretty well, too. All white, and you could see the “Michigan Bell Telephone Company” logos on the doors painted over in white paint. I think the brakes and exhaust were the first things that needed replacing.
Natchez to New Orleans...living on jacks and queens...
Call them a car without a trunk lid?
The south American markets have been getting a maverick truck for more than 10 years, haven’t they?
I should have stipulated the two door. Had a friend who had one in yellow with black stripes. It looked better than many other cars. I remember going down the interstate sideways on ice.
I was once driving up a long hill, doing about 65 in a 55. There was a row of 10 or so cars coming down the hill in plain sight. Suddenly a lady driving a hunter safety orange maverick decides to pull out, to pass into my lane about 209’ in front of me. I hit the shoulder and watched her go by. She had a Marge Simpson hairstyle and didn’t even seem to know she almost killed us both.
No wonder her husband bought her a safety orange car.
“not a sedan with no trunk lid!”
Yes. Yes, Yes.
It doesn’t look any smaller to me.
