Wonder if Amazon knows or cares who they hire.

Is the perp an illegal? Is she who she says she is? Does she have a rap sheet?

For once I see the need for a good lawyer.

Hope the family sues. Discovery would an eye-opener, I’ll wager.

But I bet Amazon can buy off the family, complete with NDA.

Amazon, one of these days you’re going to victimize the wrong family.

“.I do hope Amazon can be held accountable!”

If Amazon had reports on the driver being violent in the past, then, yes. But if they followed all the relevant laws and regulations and conducted whatever legal due diligence is required, no. Note that some states are making it illegal to do background checks. Also, some venues are making it illegal to not hire because of prison records, etc.

Oh yes indeedy Amazon can and will be held civilly liable under agency law.

Probably looking at a settlement of $10 MM. $1Mm for each hit.

I do hope Amazon can be held accountable!

Amazon's lawyers and accountants are working on an out-of-court settlement amount. Amazon's Human Resources department is already working on the mandatory "don't assault customers" training that all drivers are going to have take. Multiply the number of drivers by one hour which is what that training is costing the company (and customers).
