For some reason this, this reminds me of St. Skittles.
That kid must be a bad seed.
“Police had gathered records of Bobby’s previous interactions with law enforcement and were using his history to predict that he would be a troublemaker in Pasco County.”
I can’t blame the popo in this case.
Criminals will repeat their crimes.
Way too long. Did not read it all. But I read enough to conclude the police overreacted and harrassed this family without mercy. This happened back in 2015 and 2016, long before the ‘war on Cops’ became the unfortunate norm in many cities. I can’t imaging this happening now, except with families too afraid to take a stand and say ‘Enough!!”
All the police had to do was contact the father in a more subtle, dignified manner. There was no need for a swarm of police cars to appear at their new home because of the son’s past record. They could have sent an email and invited the dad for a face to face meeting at the station.
What are their new neighbors supposed to think, seeing all those police on their doorstep? Unforced errors were made.
What I see here is these a$$hole cops showed up to harass a kid and family who had not done one single thing wrong in their jurisdiction.
The problem here is an out of control police department who think it’s their job to run people out of town.
And a pox on you FReepers for endorsing this tyranny and then whining when the same rogue cops crap all over your gun rights.
Thanks for posting. I’ll offer my personal rules for police interaction if they arrive at my house:
Do not open door. Open window and initiate verbal contact.
Ask their name and the agency they are with. Write this down.
Ask if they have a warrant to search or to arrest
If no, I’d tell them “I fully intend to cooperate, as soon as my attorney has had a chance to speak with you first. Please leave your business card and I’ll have him call you promptly.”
Close window and end interaction.
Pasco County = Tampa = Liberal City.
Also this getting expelled from school over a fight is complete BS. Boys are growing up to be pussies. It is all a part of feminization. Boys get into fights. It happens, at least when I was a kid it did and no one's life got ruined because of it. Suspended from school, yes. Kicked out of school, no. As for a bag of weed, they better start kicking out 40%+ of the kids in high school then. There are other ways of dealing with kids than having government ruin their lives.
That treatment seems to be aimed at bringing about the fulfilment of their predictions. All of this “interaction” will be on the kid’s record and will follow him everywhere for life, even if the record is “expunged.” No record is ever actually expunged. The boy is identified as a potential criminal so the machinery goes into gear to make sure he becomes one. It’s like the auto mechanic who fixes your car and nicks a brake line to ensure that you will be repeat business.
If pot is legal in CA, this seems like persecution of someone whose crime is to be 2 years underage for consumption. To be discouraged perhaps, but this was over the top heavy handed.
I wonder if the town is otherwise so safe that the cops have nothing better to do. Or, is this happening because some government money was thrown at a program, and the local department needs to do something to justify their grant money?
That sounds like harassment.

“His son Bobby, now 21, who is currently in the Pinellas County jail awaiting trial for an assault charge, is struggling to deal with the fallout.”
