In our neighborhood, everyone has a septic tank and a well, which must be located on the opposite sides of a house, for obvious reasons. Whoever designed our corner-lot yard did things ass-backwards. They should’ve put the septic tank out front, where there’s also lots of room for a drainfield. Instead, they put the well there and the septic tank in back, rendering the only good location in the fenced-in side yard unusable for gardening, because it’s a drainfield. Sigh.
