Seems to be vainilla - (bay-nee-yah).

I once went into an ethnic store and asked the checkout lady how to say ‘avocado’ in Spanish. She looked at me very oddly.

I should have known....but I wasn’t thinking (that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.)
