That’s one of the reasons Thais don’t kill snakes (also because they are Buddhist). A king cobra can clear out several rai of land of mice and rats in a relatively short time.

I should add that the main diet of king cobras are other snakes, including lesser cobras. The mice and rats attract snakes which attracts king cobras. Once the king cobra clears out the other snakes the only other prey left are mice and rats. Once these are depleted the king cobra moves on.
My fiance once had a nine foot king cobra come up out of her toilet from the septic system. Trust me, you look very carefully and then don’t linger taking your morning constitutional.

The snakes around my place must all be Democrats.... I still have mice... the snakes are too lazy to catch them

“Thais don’t kill snakes (also because they are Buddhist)”

Thai’s may not kill snakes, but the housekeepers next door used to come over and get me all the time to come kill snakes over in their compound. I lived there for like 6 years and snakes were on everything. Mostly rat snakes but I did kill a cobra and a krate. I was just a kid with a H&R .410 breakopen single.

Catfishing in the klongs was phenomenal.
