I should add that the main diet of king cobras are other snakes, including lesser cobras. The mice and rats attract snakes which attracts king cobras. Once the king cobra clears out the other snakes the only other prey left are mice and rats. Once these are depleted the king cobra moves on.
My fiance once had a nine foot king cobra come up out of her toilet from the septic system. Trust me, you look very carefully and then don’t linger taking your morning constitutional.

Funny, but we had a big rat do the
same thing. The wife called the
exterminators. When they showed
up, they wanted to know where the
mouse was.
My wife set a heavy flower pot on
the closed toilet seat to keep
the rodent contained.
The rat was pushing hard to get
out, and was lifting the seat an
inch or so, every so often.
One of the exterminators screamed
when they removed the flower pot,
and opened the lid.
The one standing behind had the
presence of mind to shut the
bathroom door (upon seeing the
“mouse” leap out of the toilet).
