I posted Brad Smith's picture because I'm surprised that a White male is still in charge of anything these days.

One of my favorite Orwell quotes:

Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right. -- George Orwell, "1984"

So is he trying to separate himself from Gates and his agenda, as they are increasingly questioned?

Leftists have progressed too far already, control too much at present.

The book 1984, Part 3, Chapter 3, O’Brien to Smith:

“...The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently.

We are different from all the oligarchies of the past, in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites.

The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just round the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal.

We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship.

The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power.

Now do you begin to understand me?’ “

AI Used To Identify Thieves In Walmart, USA

I read a science article about these Walmart cameras/AI software. It said that they had facial recognition capability and could read the stress lines on faces and determine from those lines whether a person had or was going to steal something.

Smith is a lawyer and heads Microsoft’s legal department, which was actually one of their largest operations, ans they get sued around the globe on an almost daily basis.

Satya Nadella is still the CEO of Microsoft, and is in charge.

The lefties who warn us about a police state will be bringing us into a police state, as Antifa is spreading fascism. Hillary warned us about people jeopardizing democracy by not accepting election results, knowing that the biggest election fraud in history was in the making. They tell us what they’re up to by accusing others of their own behavior.

He isn’t really in charge.

The former H1B scumbag Indian Satya Nadella is. Since he has been CEO, the percentage of Indians employed in the US at Microsoft has risen to 35% from basically nothing in 2014.

I think Microsoft’s Brad Smith has a little cognitive dissonance going on if he expects government regulation to prevent “1984” style government desire to see hear and control everything a person does.

Big Tech has effectively immersed itself into the Democratic Party so we’re on a fast track to a future that looks like a 1984 dystopia until we stop them.

So this ai stuff is selective. It can detect every day people doing normal stuff but can’t be used effectively to figure out who these antifa people are so law enforcement can find them?

Step one, switch from Windows to Linux.

I recently bought a new Windows computer and found that it had OneDrive tied to the default "my documents" folder, so everything I saved would be duplicated on Microsoft's servers (remember "cloud" = "someone else's computer"). I'm trying to unwind it now so that only things I explicitly copy to OneDrive go there.

I think I detect a bit of jealousy here.

Microsoft google, facebook, et al. want to be the ones in charge of the AI 1984, as opposed to governments. After all they're smarter than elected politicians and bureaucrats...

...but they ignore the fact that an all seeing, all knowing, all powerful AI will be a Colossus, a Guardian of the world, not the mere humans who are currently jonesing for all that power!

The government wants to disarm us after 245 yrs 'cuz they plan to do things we would shoot them for!

And people are inviting it into their own homes with Alexa, Siri, and smart homes and smart appliances.

They are billed as making your life easier and more convenient but I highly doubt that was their true end goal.

I think the dystopia of Nineteen Eighty Four was *realized* in 1984. But isn’t it arrogant to think that “history ended” at that time? That is, why would the forces that *created* the dystopia *stop* bringing about that chaos?

It is now 2021, 37 years later. Our technology is markedly different from the way it was. Comparatively, in the UK there are now 5.2 MILLION CCTV cameras. Lord knows how many such public and private cameras now exist in the US.

The NSA actually built a gigantic data library in Utah.

“The 1.5 billion-dollar one million square-foot Bluffdale / Camp Williams LEED Silver facility houses a 100,000 sq-ft mission critical Tier III data center.”

And yet, the *vast* amount of data it consumes and archives is essentially worthless.

But that is the “dystopian threshold”. That dystopian governments over time become obsessed with useless trivia, *and ignore the big, important things that government is supposed to do*.

East Germany is a great example. At the end, almost half its people had been coerced to spy on the other half. And yet, its infrastructure was collapsing. Many consumer goods were rare or unavailable. Pollution was horrific, etc.

And that is how dystopian societies end. Not with a bang, but with a shrug.
