Walz calls for moment of silence Tuesday on 1-year anniversary of George Floyd's death

Gov. Tim Walz has issued a proclamation asking Minnesotans to observe a moment of silence in honor of the one-year anniversary of George Floyd's death.

Walz called for a moment of silence at 1 p.m. on Tuesday for 9 minutes and 29 seconds.

ABC News - “After Floyd: The Year that Shook the World - A Soul of a Nation Special” - 9 p.m.: ABC News will air a special edition of “Soul of a Nation” Tuesday night, featuring interviews with Floyd’s family, civil rights attorney Ben Crump, and civil rights leader and National Action Network President Rev. Al Sharpton, among others. Daytime talk show host Tamron Hall and co-anchor T.J. Holmes will host the one-hour special from Minneapolis. It will air on 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS starting at 9 p.m.

I was so bloody angry at my place of work when they said they wanted to observe 3 min of silence (the time George Floyd was held down by a knee) and join people kneeling outside the place that I resolved when I heard them announce it, I was going to find the “Happy” song and play it at loud volume.

That is how mad I was, I was really going to do it.

Fortunately for me, I got embroiled in some task, and they never announced it over the PA, so it was come and gone before I remembered it.

I am glad I missed it that way. If I had heard the announcement, I might well have done it. I am glad I didn’t hear it.

I am still boiling mad about it. I would never, ever do that political crap to any employee who worked for me.

The NYC mayor will be kneeling to observe that same anniversary ("Bill de Blasio to Kneel at Event Marking Anniversary of George Floyd’s Death"), so maybe the mayor can do that kneeling on Governor Walz's neck.   (That ought to keep the dim-bulb governor silent for a moment or two at least, particularly if the NYC mayor gives the schmuckster Walz a huge, lethal dose of fentanyl before he kneels on his neck.)

Then, maybe we can find a volunteer to return the favor to the idiotic mayor.
