You can get sprays to treat your clothes for the times you will be outside. That and DEET. DEET helps.
A 2 to 1 water/vinegar solution works for humans and pets against ticks and other insects.
You can send off those ticks that were attached to find out if they carried Lyme and then get dosed with doxycycline if necessary! Do I sound paranoid? Lol
