I assume the people who did this study have never drunk any alcohol. If they have, we must throw this study out the window.

"Well you see, Norm, it's like this . . . A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers."

Garbage. It kills off weak brain cells, thus leaving you with a healthier brain.

About 25 years ago I had a family Doctor who seemed to be competent, I had no issues with him.
A year or so later I read an article in the local paper saying his medical license was suspended because he suffered from organic brain damage due to alcohol abuse.

For me, I was noticing it. If you find you drink too much, it’s okay to stop before you get yourself in trouble. I did. I am grateful to wake up in the morning without that “oh, crap” feeling. For me, personally, it’s worth the sacrifice, and I find my brain and body getting better, clearer, stronger. For me, personally, I agree that alcohol has poisonous properties.Still love cigars!
