No it wont.
Like the last impeachment, they will deny any opposing testimony. So forget about that.
Without knowing every detail here, I will say this: Having some sort of commission is probably the only way to get a public airing of what really happened. Without one, we will only get the alphabet soup narrative regurgitated by the MSM. It could be Congressional hearings, or it could be a commission such as this one. Or others. But something needs to be done, and done publicly.
I have joked about this commission, such as “will they confirm the lone gunman theory”? Because afaik, there was only one gunman. He was a cop who shot in cold blood what appeared to be a peacefully behaving woman who’s only real crime appeared to be trespassing. If that, because we still don’t know if the Capitol Police invited her inside. He’s been exonerated by the DOJ in quick fashion, while hundreds others are locked up without bail for what appear to be mostly minor crimes. Rapists and arsonists and child-porn distributors get bail release. To keep the narrative alive, these people are being deprived of their 8th Amendment rights.
There are still a huge number of people who think 5 people were killed that day. It is wrong. Only one person was killed, and she appeared to have been killed in cold blood. A few hooligans did some minor damage. Does not justify shooting her.
Questions need to be asked and answered. Was the Capitol open? Who opened the doors? Were they invited in by the guards/Capitol police? Many more such questions need to be asked and answered. Whether this ‘commission’ will do an honest and fair job, well, that’s another matter altogether.
Yes, that is more or less how I feel. We need some kind of public vetting. Otherwise all we will get is political BS. Whether this is the proper approach I can’t say. But something has to be done.
It also shows that Kevin McCarthy is worthless by allowing it to happen.
As long as Republicans are willing to go along with it.
Their business portfolios may be very interesting.
That’s why they must be defeated in a primary and the effort to do that must start NOW. After the primary you are stuck with the parasite. Even if they don’t have an announced primary candidate at this time we need to make enough noise that one is encouraged to step up. Some of these Vichy Repukes are from conservative states and should be hounded for their votes.
For all of those who shop at Meijer Stores - The Meijer Michigan RINO is the Grandson - I have boycotted Meijer stores since the election. Hope everyone will join me.
Doesn’t say much for ACU/FreedomWorks.
Unfortunately, Meijer’s my guy.
Miller-Meeks......should have just let Pelosi take her seat....she’s a lib in a lib district
That, and Meijer stores are MaskNazis.
Both employees and customers.
Shop Family Fare!
And Aldi!
Damn’ right and every single one of ‘em needs to be primaried right out of office.
This commission silliness is annoying but it’s also a ploy to give cover by spreading the damage off the Traitor Ten that voted for impeachment. Keep the spotlight on those ten cowards.
Their names: Liz Cheney, Tom Rice, Dan Newhouse, Adam Kinzinger, Anthony Gonzalez, Fred Upton, Jaime Buetler, Peter Meijer, John Katko and David Valadao.
Florida ping:
Gimenez and Salazar, two Florida freshman Republicans, voted for Nazi Pelozi’s Star Chamber Committee.
Disgusting.
This name comes up whenever Freepers complain that Lizard Cheney’s replacement Elsie Stefanik isn’t very conservative. This Meijer guy had a perfect 100 rating from the ACU or FreedomWorks through the end of last year.
Good spot. I’ve been dubious of those rating for a while. Few votes really matter, anyway.
Both also voted to strip Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments. These two both owe President Trump their elections from two ultraleftist freshmen moonbats and this is the thanks we get.
Nice to hear someone else realize this can be good, formally detailing everything that happened - that only a few even vaguely resembled “insurrection”, and a handful of jerks with sticks and zip ties isn’t one. Handled right, this could hugely backfire on the Left. Document police opening doors, alleged mobs politely walking slowly as directed by velvet ropes, and otherwise prove the incident was “mostly peaceful”.

How did impeachment 1 and 2 go? Trump was punching bag and the useless GOP did not use their power to score points. Another show trial AKA January 6th “commission” wouldn’t be any better. Probably worse with Pelosi in charge.
Let’s see.....
January 6.
February, one month.
March, two months.
April, three months.
May, four months.
Wow.
This must have really worried the Democrats.
4 1/2 months later.
They probably didn’t sleep all that time.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!
Gimenez and Salazar, two Florida freshman Republicans, voted for Nazi Pelozi’s Star Chamber Committee.
Disgusting.
They are in swing districts and pandering. There are MUCH worse on the list of 35. Some of the worst Never Trumpers are in solid red districts.
