Yes. I told my kids I could remember seeing a couple of thalidomide “babies” when I was very young (in an effort to tell them science is not always correct) and they scoffed. They’ve never seen what science can do to poor babies.
People of our age grew up seeing the failures, and successes, of science. We don’t believe science is 100% fail proof the way young people do now. Science has become a “god” to younger generations. Science is important but blind faith in science can be deadly, as we are finding out.
Show this site to your kids, seeing is believing. (I’m glad to see that thalidomide survivors have found each other online, and can connect and feel less alone.)
