It was an endearing little Canadian comedy that was picked up by many PBS stations in the US. It was actually an outdoorsy Home Improvement (HI) with Tim “The Toolman” Taylor before there was a Home Improvement. Many in Canada believe that HI borrowed the idea from The Red Green Show, as HI debuted in September, while Red Green had already debuted in January of the same year. He used lots of hockey references and his primary solution to most repairs was - you guessed it - duct tape. A clean show with mild double entendres and just good family entertainment.

The show with Doug McKenzie boys was particularly funny.
I always enjoyed it...usually chuckled but had some laugh out loud bits too. Now I watch Heartland...another family friendly show from Canada. Pretty girls in cowboy hats riding horses in the Alberta foothills. Beautiful.
One of the few times I had TV I ran into the Red Green show a couple of times. I remember how they rigged a car that was stuck in reverse so it could be driven. Including little red plastic kid buckets taped to the headlights. The show was extremely funny and clean.
