It is a two letter word signifying refusal.
It is apparently horribly hard for people to say at first but with practice they get better at it.
Soon they are living normal lives and have quit lying to get along with people who are insane. After a year they no longer care about the opinion of the insane.
At that point they grow a backbone and become a fully functional adult.
