Ben Franklin famously said, "You've got a republic, if you can keep it." That warning is particularly haunting now, because we seem on the verge of losing it — not from foreign invasion, not from revolution, but because we stopped caring about it.
America was founded on the principles of individual liberty and equal treatment under the law. These are the foundational principles required for equality and prosperity. Yet we've been creeping away from those principles for many years. In the last 12 years, that creep has become a sprint. The world's beacon of freedom is dying, and we're acting as if trading liberty for "safe spaces" is a great deal.
The press has become the propaganda ministry. These people no longer report the news. Instead, they craft narratives. Many of those narratives seem designed to create civil unrest — playing Americans against one another. Apparently, hatred and riots are good for ratings. Consumers of this "news" no longer have an accurate picture of what's happening in politics or society. They're simply pawns playing their parts in the script.
Our schools have become little more than re-education camps. They're no longer preparing our children for adult life. Math, science, and reading have taken a back seat to Critical Race Theory and intersectionality indoctrination — and our children's test scores show it. Schools don't teach critical thinking or value differing views. They're demanding conformity with their chosen ideology. The generation that is just now approaching adulthood, doesn't understand the importance of individual liberties and doesn't seem to care.
Our Legislative Branch has stopped debating. Speaker Pelosi would rather tear up speeches than have an open discussion

We lost this nation when the 10 Commandments were removed from the Town Square. The idea to let it fail and rebuild on its ashes is insane as it is a belief similar to a “Progressive” plan.

It can be resurrected, but that is going to take significant work and a thorough cleaning of government and the associated agencies.

The institutions are rotten, the people are ignorant (bless our hearts, I don't mean that in a disparaging way), risk aversion prevails over liberty, and not a majority holds to foundational moral absolute principles.
Any reversal will emphatically not come from the top down, will not come from voting in "conservatives" or "constitutionalists." The rot is bureaucratic and the elected pols won't remove any bureaucracy. The courts serve their master, the government.
Don't blame the press - the press was known to be liars before 1920. It's the gullible people who fell of Walter Lipmann's myth that the press has a duty to, and is skilled at objective reporting. The function of the press is to advocate, and that is an adversarial system - just like courts are adversarial. Two parties come to the bench, each tells half truths, and the judge picks a winner. Same with the press except the readers pick what they will believe.
Courage and resistance are contagious.

We have RINO-controlled state legislatures to thank for Biden stealing the election. They refused to enforce voter ID and rolled over and allowed the cheat-by-mail-in ballots to be foisted on the electorate by leftist, non-legislative entities.
This is the ONLY way forward. Only when We the People have representatives who control the state legislatures will we be able to take back the WH.
Vote out every RINO who must face a primary in 2022 and replace them with conservative patriots. Rinse and repeat every 2 years until the voters control the GOP.

Historians will trace the end of our republic and the beginning of the oligarchy to when SCOTUS told us that no one in America has standing when an ineligible candidate runs for president, refusing to do their job in Berg vs Obama.
There were plenty of FReepers on the wrong side of that history.
That's b/c these principles are no longer taught in the schools.
Instead kids learn that America is irredeemably racist, homophobic and bigoted and must be overhauled from top to bottom - with government in charge of everything and "oppressors" like your average White person, rooted out and either punished harshly or eliminated.
This message is so ingrained that there is no reasoning with the brainwashed.
A damn shame is what it is. The freest, most prosperous country on earth is about to be forever snuffed out and replaced with brutal, murderous communism.

THERE is the problem.
We are NOT “on the verge” of losing our Republic;
We HAVE lost it.
For decades, we voted for the “lesser of two evils”. What you get from decades of THAT is - still evil.
And these evil politicians went for broke and murdered our Representative Republic last November.
It’s gone. We have to deal with that fact.

We can't. It is too far gone and those who disagree with us cannot be reasoned with. I do not wish to live around them, does anyone here?
The only solution is to separate ourselves from them and live under a system that reflects what we desire, the tenants of the Founding Fathers - liberty, equality under the law, fairness in elections and tolerance.
Let the Commies have their Commie system - far from us - and NOT allow them to breach our living space when their system inevitably implodes into violence, killing and anarchy and they demand entry into ours.
I don't believe there is any other way to survive from what I see coming, and what they'd like to do to us.
