Haha! A little further down Lundy’s Lane there are “ballets” that offer “other things”. 😉 We used to have a lot of those “ballets” in my town but they couldn’t keep it clean and legal and women ended up being trafficked. They all got shut down over time.
There was a bit of a social climber at my golf club and she was notorious for meeting you for the first time and asking what your husband did for a living before deciding if you were worthy of her time and friendship. I was warned about her before we met and when we did, she asked the question I was expecting.
I tipped my head from side to side and told her in my most dumbed-down voice that my husband was the owner of the three strip clubs in my town and that we’d met when I was a “dancer”. I went on at great length about how I got out of the business when we married because he didn’t want me “dancing” for anyone but him, and then he eventually sold them off for a humongous amount of money, so I took up golf. I giggled and concluded with “You know, I still kinda miss dancing.” and I walked away leaving her with her mouth open.
A few months later she came up to me and scolded me for telling such a tall tale and I just smiled at her. I don’t think she ever understood why I did it.
