She turned away with a look alright. The look was concern that others might have heard Joe say, “I picked a flower for you , mommy.”

Reagan called Nancy mommy.

The thing about pretending, that is true for many marriages, looks good on the outside, especially when trying to make it look so.

But it also certainly could mean the presidency is fake.

When our children were younger, my husband used to refer to me as “mama,” and I referred to him as “daddy.” Now we call each other “granny” and “poppaw.”

My great-aunts and great-uncles did the same. My parents didn’t, maybe ‘cause they divorced.

After we had our first kid, my wife started calling me ‘daddy’.... now that the girls are grown up she only does it when I’m in trouble LOL
