The reasoning for DC to be a state, according to the Democrats, is they have no Senate representation. However, San Diego, that votes Republican in every election, is in a state that has two Democrat senators. To technically, San Diego has no senate representation. Should San Diego be it’s own state, using their logic?

Their argument is that D.C. has no representation in Congress. San Diego area has a 5 representatives in the House while D.C. has one delegate who has limited voting powers.

absolutely. Local Government. When the Centralized Government becomes too big to be represented by all of its cultures, we need to prune the fed. In fact, we need to ignore the fed, and just govern our own towns, counties and states.

If the problem is that DC doesn’t have any representation, then retrocede all but the Federal enclave to Maryland. Problem solved.
