So your claiming that the day they decided to work on a vaccine they already had a vaccine and were testing at? There was no time needed for research or experimentation? Amazing.
I didn’t claim the vaccine was being worked on months before that. I said that the pandemic is older than 14 months old. Which it is.
Check back with that in a couple of years. I’ll be happy if you are correct.

This was considered a landmark clinical trial.
Depends entirely who you are and where you are. If you are less tan say 50 the risk is not great for dying from covid.
For most older than say 60 or 65, the risk of mortal danger increases. That seems especially true in densely populated areas.
If you stay at home, there is no risk. In rural areas the risk diminishes
The vaccine is in common use and is not actually experimental
They are coercing people harder than ever to get injected with the experimental compound so that it will be too late for billions of people when the longterm dangers are exposed.

But this whole thing was spun up and rushed. Makes me wary.

I guarantee you no ethical scientific method involving biology, especially medicinal biology, will take just a year to do.
I’d say 5 years for a good project.
The FDA argument is a strawman. FDA is a bureaucracy that adds about double the time good research needs. Mostly FDA involves a bunch of bureaucratic documentation that takes forever in itself.
So yes, with no FDA, good biological research should still take a solid amount of time. There is no shortcut.
My DH knew a postman who got paralyzed with the Guillain-Barré syndrome in ‘76. Luckily he and his mom did not have problems, but that was scary.
The ROI is not worth it. I don’t think this is killer enough to risk an “experimental” RUSHED vaccine. I don’t care that Trump made it happen, either.
BTW DH bowed to pressure and is getting the Pfizer. I pray God we do not regret this 2nd round this week.
