I did not realize I was inadvertently making a pun.
Seriously, I vaguely remember being disturbed as a kid by the idea of Chinese eating people because the Chinese people at the restaurants and at school seemed so nice, as did this one guy who lived in my grandfather’s apartment building.
I’m sure they were all fine.
But The Reader’s Digest was something that was always on the coffee table and I considered myself real adult for reading it.
