You’ve got to be a Bernard Cornwell reader...If not I heartily suggest you try the Saxon Series.
Well, I started reading Griff Hosker’s Dragon Heart series, and then I started watching The Last Kingdom, so I’m consuming two Saxon “sturries” about the 9th century at the same time. I may not be learning much History but at least I have a better idea of who all the AEthels and AEds were and how Northumbria, Mercia, Wales, and Wessex fit together.
