Houses in northern NH, Maine and Vt have been selling like crazy the last two years because they were way under the national average. Especially if they are not near a ski resort or lake.
A friend but a small farm. About 12 acres outside of Lancaster for $160 a little over a year ago.
You have to really enjoy winter sports to live up there. It starts in November and does not end until May.
Even condos at Jay Peak in northern VT are cheap in comparison to other New England ski resorts. They are probably half the price of a condo at Killington.
Great memories of Jay, driving up to Canada to buy Brador Beer and having them tear the car apart thinking they would find weed.
I do my grocery shopping in Lanc.
NH property taxes are outrageous ...they make up for the *no* sales tax/ *no* income tax feature.
